Though it is a type of video conferencing service, it is different from normal video conference service. The key difference is that there are multiple participants from different locations rather than single interaction between two webcams communicating directly through conferencing software.
Apart from allowing participants to conduct a virtual face to face meeting, it also allows participants to exchange files, take polls, use text chatting option and other features to enhance communication. This technology can be adapted for a variety of situation including friends chatting, classroom discussions, distance learning, overseas business meetings and employee training.
